In Crete, the word "ΖΥΓΙΑ" traditionally refers to a pair of musicians performing together, most often the Cretan Lyra and the Cretan Lute. Inspired by this timeless musical partnership, ZYGIA – Instrumental Project is an instrumental performance by Ilias and Dimitris Vlamakis that explores the rich musical heritage of Crete through a contemporary artistic approach. Rooted in tradition, the project combines authentic Cretan melodies with improvisation, creating a unique and expressive musical experience.

Inspired by the sounds of the Eastern Mediterranean and Byzantine musical influences, the performance presents carefully crafted traditional themes alongside original compositions.
