HAIG YAZDIJAN

Born in Syria to Armenian parents, Haig Yazdjian is one of the great figures in world music.

​He plays oud and is a composer. His supercharged traditional music meets modern band, uniting the two sides of his remarkable musical personality—the virtuosic traditionalist and the restless innovator. He has lived and worked in Greece since 1980 and has appeared in many of the musical scenes of Athens while collaborating with great Greek and foreign artists. He has participated in concerts around the world with famous soloists, while in 2006 he participated in Loreena McKennitt’s European tour.
