The Matronas Trio is a musical ensemble that was formed on the picturesque island of Santorini, drawing inspiration from the rich cultural traditions of the Aegean. The group’s name is derived from their first appearances in 2017 at the traditional festival of Agia Matrona in Oia, Santorini, where their music resonated with locals and visitors alike.

Specializing in the folk and traditional music of the Cyclades and the wider Aegean region, the trio breathes new life into timeless melodies, blending authenticity with a fresh, contemporary approach. Their performances capture the essence of island music, featuring intricate rhythms, heartfelt vocals, and the vibrant interplay of their instruments.
