ANCIENT LYRE OF APOLLO

My name is Thanasis Kleopas, I live in Aegina, and I play the Ancient Greek lyre of Apollo. I also sing and compose music.
Together with my collaborators — Giorgos Livanos on the Hang drum and percussion, and Loukiani Papadaki on dance and vocals — we present a musical performance titled “A Spatiotemporal Journey Through Hellenic Music: From Antiquity to the Present and from Crete to Epirus.”
The performance begins with the oldest recorded song in the world, the Seikilos Epitaph, and travels through various regions of Greece. We reinterpret traditional songs and arrive at the present day, where we perform our own original compositions.
